Abstract
Study Design- Case Study
Purpose- To highlight occurence of PCV in Familial Druscens.
Methods- Fundus photo, OCT, OCTA and follow up.
Results- A 48-year-old male presented with complaints of sudden onset decreased central vision in their left eye for past 3 days which was painless. Fundus examination showed bilateral drusen, predominantly located in the macular region with left eye showing subretinal hemorrhage with exudation.
OCT and OCTA imaging confirmed the diagnosis of druscenoid pigment epithelial detachment with Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy in the left eye, with characteristic polypoidal lesions beneath the RPE. The patient received Injection anti vegf in the left eye and responded well with the resolution of hemorrhages and decrease in PED.
Conclusion: This case underscores the importance of considering familial drusen as a potential risk factor for the development of PCV. Early diagnosis and prompt initiation of anti-VEGF therapy is beneficial.
