Abstract
Study design- Single center, prospective, uncontrolled non-randomized case series
Purpose- To report the efficacy of intravitreal injection (IVI) of brolucizumab for treatment naive diabetic macular oedema (DME) in a real world settings
Methods- 14 eyes with DME ,who have not received any prior treatment like IVI, laser, medication, underwent IVI brolucizumab and were followed up for minimum of 12 weeks. Patient underwent best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) testing, ophthalmic examination and optical coherence tomography (OCT) at baseline and all the scheduled follow up visits (weeks 4,8,12,16)
Result- All 14 eyes demonstrated notable visual improvement in BCVA and reduction in the fluid on OCT lasting upto week12.
Conclusions- In this case series, treatment with IVI brolucizumab exhibited excellent visual acuity outcomes lasting upto 12 weeks for the treatment of treatment naive DME.
