Abstract
Purpose: To study the uveitis patterns at a tertiary eye center in western India and compare it with previous research.
Study Design: A prospective observational study.
Methods: All uveitis cases from January 2023 to September 2023 were enrolled. A comprehensive clinical examination and detailed investigations to determine the specific causes of uveitis was done.
Results: Among 90 uveitis patients, anterior uveitis (32.6%%) was the most prevalent, followed by posterior uveitis (24.5%). A specific etiology for uveitis could be identified in 57.91%, except for the intermediate uveitis group, where the cause was primarily idiopathic.
Conclusion: Presumed ocular Tuberculosis (46.29%) was the most common form of infectious uveitis (25.71%), while spondyloarthropathy (27.27%) was the predominant non-infective uveitis (26.19%). This information enhances our understanding of uveitis patterns in western India and may provide valuable insights for future research and clinical management.
