Abstract
Study Design: Hospital-based retrospective case series
Purpose: To report the clinical features and outcomes of 202 patients with ocular injury (OI)
Methods: OI presenting to a secondary eye center in Western Odisha were included. The data was entered into the International Globe and Adnexal Trauma Epidemiology (IGATES) study consortium
Results: Over 12 months, out of 202 patients presenting with OI, 166 (82%) were males. n=47 (25.27%) were aged 30 to <40 years, and n=89 (44.95%) sustained injuries in domestic settings. BCVA less than 6/60 was noted in n=72 (35.6%) eyes. n=108 (54.55%) patients had Zone 1 injury (n=108, 54.55%). Duration between injury and presentation to the hospital was highest for >= 1 Mo (n=46, 23%). Surgery was performed in 76 eyes (37.62%) eyes, and 25 eyes underwent SFIOL Surgery
Conclusion: Most of the patients sustained injury in domestic settings, had Zone 1 injuries, and had a delayed presentation. SFIOL surgeries were helpful for subluxated cataracts
