Abstract
INTRODUCTION-The presence of various skin appendages in the eyelids causes spectrum of lesions. Prevalence and type of lesion vary with the geographical location, race, age, gender, genetics and skin type. Clinical diagnosis is based on the history and appearance, final diagnosis is established on histopathology. In this hospital based prospective case series, 8 patients with eyelid mass were presented at RIO, GMCH. Patient underwent detailed investigations and lid mass excision and biopsy was done. Surprisingly different etiological variations were seen in histopathological reports which will be discussed in the case series. CONCLUSION- Various histological elements makes eyelids the origin of a wide range of lesions. factors for misdiagnosis are rarity of lesion, atypical presentation, and their masquerading nature.
