Abstract

Orbital haemangiomas are uncommon benign vascular lesions often diagnosed in children, presenting a unique challenge in management. We present a case report of a 13-year-old boy with a painless gradually progressive unilateral proptosis for 5 years. The visual acuity was 6/6 in both eyes and fundus findings were within normal limit. CEMRI confirmed the diagnosis of orbital haemangioma. The patient underwent ultrasound-guided intralesional sclerotherapy, which is a minimally invasive procedure involving the injection of a sclerosing agent. The treatment was well-tolerated and resulted in a significant reduction in the size of the haemangioma and resolution of associated symptoms on subsequent follow up visits.
