Study design-Case report
Purpose- Management of giant ocular surface squamous neoplasia (OSSN) with topical mitomycin-C as immunoreduction followed by surgical excision.
Methods-42 yrs old female presented with giant painful papillomatous mass having irregular surface, with presence of many feeder vessels & pigmentation in right eye.All routine investigations including viral markers were normal, Excisional biopsy was done.To delineate margins lissamine stain was done.On the basis of clinical & histopathology report we start mitomycin C.
Results-After 2 cycle of mitomycin -C patients discomfort ,size of mass, feeder vessels, intrinsic vessels,pigmentation decreses significantly.
Conclusion-Surgical excision is gold standard for management of OSSN.Complication associated with surgery like limbal stem cell deficiency, symblepharon formation, conjunctival scarring lead to shift towards medical management of OSSN. Combination of surgical & medical methods for large OSSN is most effective.
