Abstract

Capillary hemangioma of the conjunctiva is a benign vascular tumour. It may regress spontaneously, or need conservative or surgical treatment. We report a case of a 11 years old male presented with pedunculated conjunctival mass arising from the bulbar conjunctiva of temporal aspect of limbus of the left eye since 2 months, which was insidious in onset, gradually increase in size and painless. Initially he was treated with conservative treatment elsewhere, but no improvement of signs & symptoms. The mass was 10mm x 8mm x 5mm in size, erythematous, pedunculated, firm, mobile, bleed on touch, non-pulsatile and associated with surface ulceration A complete surgical excision of the lesion was done under local anaesthesia and the specimen sent for histopathological report, which revealed capillary hemangioma. There was mild conjunctival congestion with clear on 1st post-operative day; the eye became quiet on subsequent one month follow-up.
