Abstract

METHOD –A 40 year old male presented with complaints of redness, sudden swelling around the left eye and diminution of vision since 1 day after injury due to lightening was evaluated. Unaided vision of left eye was 6/18. Anterior segment showed congestion,corneal edema,punctate epithelial erosions with rest details not clear in left eye.After 1 week corneal edema reduced, acute anterior uveitis was present and pupil showed RAPD.On fundus evaluation there was papillitis in the left eye but macula was normal.OCT macula of left eye was done showing normal macula. Patient was started on ivmp1 gram and oral steroids.On follow up,there was reduced vision in left eye with mild corneal haze,anterior chamber reaction and sluggishly reacting pupil.
RESULT- Patient was diagnosed as a rare case of photic retinopathy and was managed accordingly
Conclusion – Photic retinopathy is a foveo-maculopathy but in our case it presented as uveitis and papillitis which is a rare presentation
