Abstract

Pituitary adenomas are the most common tumours of the sellar region. They generally have a slow but severe impact on vision due to compression of the optic nerves, optic chiasm and cavernous sinus. here we report a case of optic atrophy folleing pituitary macroadenoma.
case report- a female 53 years old came in eye opd with history for painless loss of vision from 2 months. on examination vision was PL positive in right eye and 6/36 in left eye with proptosis and exotropia in right eye. IOP was normal in both eyes. fundus examination was optic atrophy in right eye and left eye was normal. There was no family history of ocular disease MRI showed pituitary adenoma, patient was given mecoba plus once daily and reffered to higher centre for further management.
