FP2669 : Title: Mind bender puzzle – Myopia with glaucoma

Abstract

Study Design: Case-series
Purpose: To review evaluation of patients with high myopia and suspicious disc for glaucoma
Method: Records of a series of patients with high myopia with disc changes suspicious of glaucoma are included and analyzed to discuss on the evaluation of such patients.
Results: Review of case series shows the challenges faced in diagnosing a patient of high myopia with disc changes as a case of glaucoma along with the clinical and investigation tools available to us which aid in making the decision whether to start anti glaucoma (AG) treatment or observe.
Conclusion: The study highlights the importance of appropriate evaluation of high myopia patients to rule out or include the diagnosis of glaucoma for them, also touching on the future aspects. The decision of whether to start AG treatment or not requires considering various clinical findings and investigation results along with some modification in the normal analysis protocol for glaucoma investigations.
