Abstract
Study Design:Cross sectional observational study
Objective: to find any association between osas and poag
To find more modifiable risk factor for poag
Methodology:
In this population based cross sectional study, we include Indian adults (>40yrs) in a tertiary care government hospital from 2022 -2023.
Risk of Obstructive Sleep Apnea syndrome was assessed by snoring, Tiredness, Observed apnea, Hypertension, Body mass index, Age, Neck circumference, and male Gender (STOP-Bang) questionnaire .Then it was categorized as low risk (<3) or intermediate/higher risk (≥3)
Glaucoma is assessed by fundoscopy, perimetry, gonioscopy by Ophthalmologists and classified into Primary open angle Glaucoma and Angle closure Glaucoma.
We used multivariable logistic regression models to evaluate the relationship between risk of OSA and primary open angle glaucoma adjusted for key variables.
Result: High risk of Obstructive Sleep Apnea syndrome is associated with primary open angle glaucoma
