Abstract

Aim- To assess outcome of sulcus-fixated AGV as primary surgery in secondary glaucoma.
Methods- Medical records of above-stated patients were reviewed retrospectively. IOP, BCVA, AGM, Corneal clarity, and complications were collected from the preoperative visit to 1 year postop. Failure was IOP <5 mmHg or >21 mmHg on MMT, additional glaucoma surgery, corneal decompensation, or loss of light perception.
Results- 50 patients were included. 47 were considered successful at 1 year. The mean preoperative IOP of 36.4 mmHg reduced to 14.4 mmHg and medications reduced from 3.22 to 0.80 at 1 year. Hypertensive phase was observed between 1-3months in 48%. All complications, except one, were managed conservatively. At 1year, all had clear cornea with no edema/ decompensation. The change in graft clarity and BCVA was not statistically significant.
Conclusion- AGV with tube in sulcus can be a primary surgical option in patients with complicated secondary glaucoma with good clinical outcomes.
