Abstract
Aim- the purpouse of this study is to assess the demographic distribution and factors associated with rhinosporodiosis
Method- This is a prospective study.A total of 17 patients were included in the study. History of presentation of symptom, duration, area of residence,bathing habbit and occupation taken.Slit lamp and diffuse light examination done to see the extention of mass.Surgical excision of mass was done and sent for histopathological examination.
Result- All patients had history of bathing in pond and belong to rural residence. Male prepondrance was there.Most common site of involvment was lower alpebral conjunctiva(52.94%) followed by upper tarsal conjunctiva(35.92%). Bulbar conjunctiva was involved in 2 patients.
Conclusion-For prevention of community transmission public awarness for water hygeine and community health education is required.Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment.
