Abstract
To describe a rare case of Corneal Hydrops with Pellucid Marginal Degeneration and its effective management with compression sutures and air injection. We report a case of 26-year-old female who presented to us with complaints of acute pain and diminished vision in the right eye with history of eye rubbing. Examination revealed PMD with hydrops and detachment of Descemet’s membrane along with tear and PMD in left eye. Patients suffering with PMD usually experience a gradual loss of vision or persistently low visual acuity, which is caused by irregular against the rule astigmatism that usually manifests in the fourth or fifth decade of life and presentation with acute hydrops and/or spontaneous corneal perforation is rare. Compared to PMD, keratoconus is more common to cause acute hydrops. In this case we report our management with Intracameral C3F8 with compression sutures and its follow-up.
