Abstract

Study Design: Case Report
Objective: To report a case of corneal ulcer with hypopyon resulting from fish tail trauma
Methods: A 51 year old fish seller reported to Ophthalmology OPD with complaints of pain, redness, blurred vision and photophobia in left eye after sustaining a fish tail injury 1 day back. A clinical diagnosis of bacterial corneal ulcer was made and empirical treatment started with topical fortified antibiotics and cycloplegic.
Results: Fish tail trauma induced Corneal ulcer was diagnosed
Conclusion: This case report highlights a rapidly progressing corneal ulcer resulting from fish tail injury. It also emphasizes the need for using protective eye wear among fish sellers.
