Abstract
An intraocular foreign body is one of the most dreadful emergencies warranting immediate surgeries in ophthalmic practice. Even the most experienced retina surgeon find it difficult to tackle a complex IOFB. The slippage during removal causes irreversible damage to retina which makes it a night mare for all budding retina surgeons. Nevertheless each case of intraocular foreign body are different according to the site of injury , the impact on retina and damage to adjascent structures. Endophthalmitis, siderosis and phthisis can result after which there may not be a turning around. Through this series of cases we describe interesting cases of IOFB including very large IOFB , missed IOFB and deep posterior iofb. We highlight different techniques in their removal, advantages and disadvantages through each cases. The aim of the presentation is to enlighten the audience about how proper technique and tools will help the surgeon in removing even complex IOFB without much collateral damage.
