Abstract

There is a diabetic retinopathy epidemic with diabetic patients suffering from it as well as vitreoretinal surgeons trying to deal with their retinopathy. The web signifies the condition they are in as well as the membranes which form in advanced proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Membranes formed in diabetic retinopathy are of different types presenting as flat membranes, with tractional detachment, with retinal schisis, combined retinal detachment and extensive membranes till ora. With the advent of small gauge instrumentation, good visualisation systems and advanced technology, tackling advanced diabetic retinopathy cases has become relatively easier with patients getting relatively good vision post-operatively. This video bouquet of cases of proliferative diabetic retinopathy showcases the different presentations of the disease being handled with the current armamentarium thereby entangling the web of the PDR.
