Lawrence Yep said, "just because there is tarnish on the copper, doesn’t mean there is not a shine beneath!" But when and how do we look for copper in the eye? This video demonstrates, classical signs in general physical & ocular examination in cases of Wilson’s disease! We present a series of patients of Wilson disease with neuro-systemic manifestations like slurred speech, spastic dystonia, ataxia, wing beating tremors, hemichorea etc. along with Kayser Fleischer (KF) ring in cornea. We demonstrate spectrum KF ring, which at times can be detected by naked eyes on torch light. Whereas in early cases, a careful slit lamp examination (SLE) and/or gonioscopy is needed to detect it. Anterior segment OCT serves as diagnostic tool, where KF ring is doubtful on SLE/gonioscopy. A focussed and timely ophthalmic examination can help diagnose this systemic condition promptly and reduce the morbidity caused by this multi system disorder.
