Abstract
Purpose: Intraorbital foreign bodies (IOFB) are relatively rare and are often associated with vision
threatening complications. We report three rare cases of unrecognized large IOFB.
Case-1: A 5 yr.boy with pain & swelling right lower eyelid (feature s/o eyelid abscess),CT -larger hypodense IOFB in right inferior orbit closed to globe. A large, flat piece of bamboo was completely removed through transcutaneous lid crease approach. There was good visual and cosmetic outcome. Case-2: 16 year, boy with RE redness and mucopurulent discharge(s/o of chronic conjunctivitis) but not responding to anti-inflammatory & antibiotics drugs. .H/o trauma present. CT Scan orbit revealed IOFB with orbital ring like foreign body. A plastic cap was removed through trans-cutaneous orbitotomy. Case-3:A 17 year old girl
with on and off pus discharge from superio-medial aspect of right upper eyelid with complete ptosis. Multiple longstanding wooden FB pieces was removed successfully without any complication.
