Abstract
Study Design : Prospective Interventional Study
Purpose:
To analyze refractive outcomes, contrast sensitivity, aberrations and tear film metrics using the ELITA Femtosecond platform in the treatment of myopia and myopic astigmatism.
Methods:
50 eyes of 25 patients who underwent Lenticule extraction were included in the study. The Pentacam HR and itrace were used to measure the corneal and total aberrations. Tear film metrics were measured using the Keratograph and Lipiview device .Refractive outcomes were also studied post surgery.
Results:
The UDVA showed significant improvement (p=0.001*). The Higher order aberrations did not show significant change after surgery (P =0.65). There was no significant change in contrast sensitivity (P=0.23). Non invasive BUT and Lipid layer thickness did not show significant deterioration post procedure.
Conclusion:
The procedure was found to be accurate, safe and effective with good preservation in quality of vision as well as tear film metrics.
