Abstract

In cases of partially accommodative esotropia, traditionally surgical correction of distance esotropia with bifocals for near have been advocated. However, many times children are non-compliant to glasses, resulting in poor control of ET. Fadenopexy has been a promising alternative for correcting near deviation in high AC/A ratio. Here, we report a case of 4 children with esodeviation at distance alongwith significant increase in esodeviation for near with high AC/A ratio. Both patients underwent bimedial recession with fadenopexy. Satisfactory outcome was observed in both cases. To conclude, faden operation on MR muscle is an effective surgical option for treating partially accommodative esotropia with high AC/A ratio.
