FP2345 : Recognising the Best! To report a case of late onset Best Vitelliform Macular dystrophy

Abstract

AIM:To report a case of late onset Best Macular dystrophy.
MATERIALS & METHODS: A 34 year old female presented with complaints of DOV in BE since 10 years.No H/O trauma or ocular diseases in the family
BCVA RE is 6/60 & LE is 6/36 NIF.
BE A/S within normal limits.
DFE of RE shows scar in macular area, LE shows cystic elevated lesion in macular area with hypopyon appearance.
FFA of RE showed a circular hyperfluorescent area with central hypofluorescence, LE with early hyperfluorescence.
OCT OD shows hyperreflectivity from RPE to superficial layers s/o fibrotic stage & OS shows hyporeflectivity under RPE & inferior part showed hyperreflectivity.
ERG of RE shows reduction in wave amplitude , LE was normal.
EOG sent & report awaited.
RESULT: Counselling and refraction done & yearly follow up advised.
CONCLUSION: Late onset Best disease’s egg yolk appearance remains consistent. Most patients have few symptoms & only mild visual impairment. It is a progressive disease & has no treatment.
