Abstract
A 40 years old female, housewife my occupation. She complaint of gradual, slowly, progressive diminution of vision in both eyes since 4-5 years, for which she was prescribed with spectacles, but no improvement. No history of micropsia, photopsia, floaters and scotoma. Her father had a similar complaint. On examination, RE vision was 6/18 and LE vision was 6/12 that improved to 6/9 in BE. Rest of the anterior segment details were normal. Fundus of BE showed a almost similar lesion with large, well circumscribed, single, yellow, subretinal lesion of a uniform density of egg yolk like appearance at the macular region. OCT of macula revealed d iffuse thinning of all the layers of retina over the lesion. Provisional diagnosis was made of macular dystrophy. Considering the other supportive features like age of onset and female gender and on the basis of OCT investigation most probable diagnosis was made of Adult onset vitelliform macular dystrophy.
