FP0658 : DAVS versus conventional analog microscope:our experience at tertiary care centre in eastern india

Abstract

Abstract:Objective: To determine the satisfaction among surgeons when using digitally assisted vitreoretinal surgery and analog microscope while doing vitreoretinal surgeries for retinal pathologies. Method: It is a prospective hospital based observational study done over a period of one year. A questionnaire was made regarding ergonomics, illumination levels, depth of field, display filters, outcome of different surgeries other than VR surgery, evaluation for safety and complication. Result: The study included ten vitreoretinal surgeons. Based on their experiences, ophthalmic 3D microscopes appears to be very comfortable for 95% of primary surgeons. Based on questionnaire, it was found that digitally enhanced scleral transillumination helps surgeons to perform safe unassisted vitrectomy. Conclusion: DAVS was considered better than analog microscope in terms of better ergonomics, low illumination levels and better resolution.
