Abstract

The last two decades have witnessed a tremendous refinement in cataract surgical techniques. However, difficult situations continue to pose challenge to even the best of cataract surgeons. The choice of phacoemulsification or small incision cataract surgery is based on the grade of the cataract and the co-existing condition like the presence of corneal opacity, subluxated lens, astigmatism, small pupil, previous refractive procedure, uveitis, etc. A systematic preoperative workup and judicious selection of adjunct devices play an important role in the surgical outcome of these cases. This video-assisted course will help the attendees adopt a structured approach to plan and manage challenging cataract cases. Audience interaction will be encouraged through out the session.
