Abstract
Study design: Prospective Interventional study
METHOD: In this method we have demonstrated different surgical techniques for silicone tube intubation in DCR/Canalicular obstruction. Total of 66 cases(40 DCR cases, 16 failed DCR & 10 Canalicular obstructions cases) were included in the study. All patients underwent bicanalicular silicon tube intubation as a standard procedure. In this study we have highlighted different techniques of intubation.
RESULTS: Total of 66 cases(40 DCR, 16 failed DCR,10 Canalicular obstructions). Silicone tube intubation was done using different techniques. No significant difficulty encountered in any case intraoperatively. During the follow-up no complication was observed.
CONCLUSION: Techniques described in this study are easy to understand and perform. It is a relatively nontraumatic and inexpensive method.
