VT0434 : Innovative OT FGE superior to OPD FGE in non-absorbing post vitrectomy rebleed.

Abstract

OPD FGE is typically performed in a case of post vitrectomy hemorrhage if it is not absorbing in due course of time and Bscan is found unremarkable We have developed simple & innovative technique of OT FGE in which the two bent 26G needles are used to pierce at two places 3.5 mm away from limbus nasal one is attached to air tube & other one to be placed temporarily FAE pressure is set at around 30-40 mm of Hg on console patient is in lying down position under microscope His face is tilted temporarily and blood-stained fluid is drained through temporal open ended needle. The procedure is done in sterile environment of OT under microscopic magnification and illumination in a controlled manner On the contrary in OPD FGE itis performed with BIO in relatively less sterile OPD and found tobe cumbersome & tedious. IOP is well controlled across the procedure as against OPD FGE, moreover,in OT FGE at the end of procedure one can inject anti VEGF to preclude further bleeding inthe vitreous cavity
