VT0028 : Breaking news!!! Peel, Flap, or Graft: Ultimately its glia that repairs the Macular hole

Abstract

The closure of Macular Hole(MH) has many hypothesis regarding the closure,
many authors have proposed that the peel of inter limiting membrane releases the tangential traction and the retinal end are held in apposition by capillary forces, many now believe That inverted ILM, containing Müller cell fragments, may induce glial cell proliferation, filling the MH and supporting MH closure, a few believe that a free full-thickness retinal graft may provide a sturdier scaffold for retinal gliosis with better tissue integration and possible ectopic synaptogenesis,
in our video we demonstrate ilm peel, ilm flap, and retinal auto graft and we show that in all there techniques, its the glial proliferation and remodelling that cause hole closure using Surgical video, OCT scans and scanning laser fluorescent Microscopy features for detailed analysis of data and correlations
