VT0101 : Only Cutter, No Forcep for Diabetic TRD

Abstract

Diabetic vitrectomies are complex in terms of visual expectations, vitreoretinal adhesiveness, sticky outpouring of intraoperative blood, thin friable ischemic retina, stout strong vascular fibrous tissue and poor systemic conditions. Hence, it's always a challenge for Vitreoretinal surgeons. It's normal to follow the rule like segmentation, delamination, membrane peeling and en-bloc dissection using the gadgets available with the surgeon like forceps, chandeliers, PFCl and cutter of course! But, it's innovative to use cutter as the Only instrument to handle diabetic TRD with multiple attachments. This series of videos highlights handling of complex diabetic vitrectomies in an unique way.
