Abstract
The objectives of this course are to teach the intermediate cataract surgeon how to
1.Explant an IOL by a “cut or roll ” strategy through a small incision .
2.Perform secondary IOL implantation employing-
a.Flangeing
b.Intrascleral haptic fixation
c.retropupillary fixation
d.Transirideal suspension-New!
e.Clear corneal Trans irideal lens suspension-New !
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE –
Explanting and IOL and re inserting the correct secondary IOL with the appropriate lens fixation strategy is important for the intermediate level cataract surgeon.
Which is the best technique to remove each IOL for eg “Pac Man” ,Rolling,hemisection,intraocular cutters ,will be taught.
which is the right technique to employ for which secondary IOL will be taught,for eg how to flange in a multifocal IOL.
these are important skills in the surgeons armamentarium and will be taught by the experts.
