Abstract

Ocular allergies are common disorders that severely affect the quality of life. Allergic eye diseases are important due to their chronic nature and varied presentations. They are often missed or may mimic other ocular surface pathologies, sometimes even infection. The treatment is often prolonged and challenging as the response to the therapy can be highly variable. In this course we would present a series of cases that would depict the various common and uncommon manifestations of different types of allergic eye diseases. We would also discuss the common conditions that mimic ocular allergy. A stepwise approach will describe the management including the role of systemic immunomodulation as well surgical options. At the end of this instruction course, attendee will be able to differentiate various forms of ocular allergies and formulate a logical stepwise treatment plan.
