OBJECTIVE: Through a series of engaging clinical discussions we explore intraoperative and postoperative complication management techniques
PURPOSE: Occurrence of globe injury during local anesthesia injection, posterior capsule rupture and loss of intraocular lens or nuclear matter into the vitreous cavity is some devastating intraoperative complications faced by anterior segment surgeons. Pseudophakic cystoid macular edema (CME), pseudophakic retinal detachment and early or late endophthalmitis are encountered in post-operative phase. Through this course expert aim to provide their insights from experience in skillfully managing the myriad of challenging cases. Our discussion highlights medicolegal aspects of endophthalmitis and recent advances for managing pseudophakic CME. This course aims to enhance our understanding of the complications and the way out with best possible management.
