Patients frequently present to the general ophthalmologist with ocular discomfort and a red eye due to corneal ulcers and a prompt diagnosis and adequate management is needed to prevent visual morbidity. The course will assist a general ophthalmologist to determine the likely cause of a corneal ulcer and understand the management of corneal ulcers, including the timing of referral. The aim of this course is that the attending general ophthalmologist grasps the essence of getting together the sinister signs of common cases. This instruction course also focuses on the diagnostic investigations, dilemmas in management and interesting and complex case scenarios with management algorithms. This course is designed on guiding the audience towards decision making in keratitis cases and educating them on all therapeutic interventions in keratitis cases as well as when to refer.
