Abstract

Study design- Case report.
Purpose- To report a case of chronic central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) following an episode of angioedema.
Methods- A 37 year old male presented with sudden painless diminution of vision in left eye, following an episode of angioedema which was managed with short course of systemic steroid and antihistamine. On evaluation the patient was found to have central serous chorioretinopathy left eye. The patient was managed conservatively.
Result- The patient had resolution of symptoms with conservative management over a prolonged period of time, with complete resolution of subretinal fluid and foveal thinning.
Conclusion- This is a rare and to the best of our knowledge, the first case of CSCR following angioedema reported worldwide. The association of angioedema and the drugs used in its treatment with CSCR need to be explored.
