FP0751 : Atypical CSCR masquerading as SLE choroidopathy

Abstract

Study design- Retrospective observational study
Purpose- To describe a case of CSCR in SLE patient
Methods- 39 year old lady, diagnosed case of SLE, not on treatment presented with left eye blurring of vision since 5 days. Her left eye visual acuity was 20/160 and fundus showed multiple choroid patches with exudative retinal detachment. FFA, OCT was advised. Rheumatologist consult for SLE was advised. 2 weekly follow up was done.
Results- FFA showed presence of multiple leakage points. OCT showed multiple hyporeflective areas in sub retinal space suggestive of neuro sensory detachment. Rheumatologist started her on injection Rituximab. After 3 weeks, her visual acuity improved to 20/30p and fibrin organization with resolution of neurosensory detachment was noted.
Conclusion-
SLE choroidopathy presents with sub retinal lesions with exudative retinal detachment. It is difficult to differentiate it from CSCR. Timely investigations and diagnosis is important to manage such cases.
