Abstract
Aim: To compare the effectiveness and cost analysis of 0.06,0.03,0.0015and 0,0075% trypan blue concentrations for staining the anterior capsule in mature cataract surgery.
Design-prosepective, observational studyInclusion criteria: Mature senile cataractExclusion criteria: Immature cataract, eyes with small pupils, complicated cataract, traumatic cataract, subluxated cataract, one-eyed patients, and eyes with visible retinal glow, developmental and congenital cataract.Assessment of staining characteristics was done.
Mean age of participants was 67.42 years Type of cataract Hypermature Morgagnian cataracts- 50 (30.5%)Hypermature sclerotic cataracts – 60 (36.6 %)Intumescent cataracts – 54 ( 33%) . Mean ccc time was 47sec.
ccc exte was seen in2 cases in 0.0015% and 1 in 0.06and 0.00075%
