Abstract
We report a case of a 12-year-old girl with this condition, who visited our strabismus clinic for restoration of esotropic appearance to one of normal alignment. On examination the girl had a right face turn of about 25⁰. There was marked abduction deficits in both the eyes.
During measurements she made efforts to straighten out her RE and PBRT revealed RET 20PD & LET 55PD. Taking the right face turn of 25⁰ into account, the overall deviation was estimated to be >100 PD and the surgery was planned in 2 stages with maximal MR RCN in first stage. However due to the restriction felt in bilateral MR during per-op FDT, only 5mm could be managed using hangback technique. The second stage of LR RXN is still a matter of speculation owing to the restrictions felt in the medial recti, bilateral hypoplastic recti (as seen on MRI Orbit) and the fact that her parents are quite satisfied with stage 1 results due to marked reduction in face turn.
