FP0497 : POST OPERATIVE COMPLICATIONS OF ICL IMPLANTATION IN MYOPIC PATIENTS – A SINGLE CENTRE STUDY

Abstract

Purpose: To study peri-op &post-op complications of Visian V4c ICL implantation in high myopes in Eastern India
Methods: Prospective observational study- myopic pts aged 24-35yrs, who underwent ICL implantation from July 2021-June 2023,who gave consent for study were enrolled. Pre-op records were checked and post op evaluation of all pts were done on day 1,7,30 and every 3monthly. Complete eye examination, AS-OCT, Specular microscopy were done in each visit and findings tabulated & analysed.
Results: Total 208 patients (B/L ICL implantation)- myopia -4DS to -18DS were included. 23.56% pts had early peri-op complications (glare, halo, dry eye). 0.06% had complications due to abN vaulting, ICL rotation, tilt, 0.024% patients with refractive surprise (ICL exchange done), 1pt-cataract. Others – raised IOP, toric ICL rotation, astigmatism etc.
Conclusion: Proper post-op F/U of pts is essential to identify & manage complications in time, so post-op VA & ocular integrity is not compromised.
