Abstract
Digital eye strain comprises of visual and ocular symptoms which occurs due to prolonged use of digital electronic devices such as television,computer,tablet,cell phone.Aim: To assess the prevalence of DES and its various risk factors of digital device usage pattern and to co-relate them statistically with clinical features.Methodology:The cross-sectional study was conducted in Assam,India during October 2022-October 2023 while 200 study participants were screened for DES related symptoms and history of digital device usage.Results were statistically analysed.Result:Majority belonged to the age group 11-40 years.The most common symptoms of DES reported were: Headache(70%), Dry eye(50%), temporary difficulty in gaze(30%) , red eye(20%), foreign body sensation(30%), watering(60%), blurring of vision(40%) ,eye rubbing(20%).Conclusion:Most common age was 20- 30 years followed by 30 to 40 years. Distance and screen time was found relevant significant association with DES.
