Abstract

Setting: Tertiary centre in North India
Methods: Retrospective analysis of clinical records of patients who underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with ILM peeling and inverted flap for large FTMH with 6 months followup. Preoperative visual acuity and OCT parameters were noted. Postoperative serial visual acuity, time for hole closure and OCT findings like, type of hole closure, appearance of Ellipsoid zone (EZ) and external limiting membrane (ELM), retinal dimpling and DONFL were noted at 1,3 and 6 months
Results: A total of 21 eyes of 20 patients. Mean presenting visual acuity was 1.33 + 0.41 logMAR. The study eyes had a Mean MLD of holes of 667.01 + 154.51, BD of 1179.36 + 365.2 and HH of 419.59 + 44.23 microns. Mean postoperative visual acuity at 1,3 and 6 month was 1.20 + 0.56, 0.90 + 0.34, 0.84 + 0.47 logMAR. On OCT, 10 eyes showed V shaped, 9 eyes showed U shaped and 2 eyes showed W shaped closure. Of the 21 eyes, 8 eyes (38.1%) showed EZ restoration. One developed CNVM
