STUDY DESIGN: Case report
PURPOSE: Exploring an intriguing case of recurrent subconjunctival haemorrhage, unravelling diagnostic complexities, and encountering unexpected findings.
METHODS: A 29-year-old Asian Indian female reported recurrent, painless subconjunctival hemorrhages in her right eye for four years (three episodes). Extensive clinical and imaging evaluations uncovered an unexpected diagnosis.
RESULTS: Normal anterior eye structures, but severe posterior segment vessel tortuosity led to facial asymmetry and mild telecanthus findings. A diagnostic forward bend unveiled slight abaxial proptosis. Brain and orbit MRI confirmed low-flow vascular malformation, diagnosing Wyburn-Mason syndrome. This highlights thorough clinical analysis importance.
CONCLUSION: This case highlights the diagnostic challenges in a case of arterio-venous malformation with atypical presentation and the importance for thorough clinical analysis.
