Abstract
A Comparative, prospective study.
To calculate the amount of dye(BBG 0.25%) and time taken for ILMP using 3D Visualization system with monochrome filter versus Analog system
30 eyes undergoing ILMP (for Macular hole, PDR) were randomized into 2 groups, group A using analog vitrectomy system and group B using 3D Visualization system with monochrome filter both operated by single surgeon. We calculated the surgical time for ILMP, number of attempts to lift 1st ILM flap, quantity of dye used and visual acuity (VA).
The mean preop VA in group A was 1.326 logMar and in group B was 1.036 logMar. Postop VA in group A was 0.904 logMar and in group B was 0.706 logMar (p>0.005). Time for ILMP in group A is 10.8 sec and in group B was 8.4 sec. Number of pinches to lift ILM flap in group A was 2.8 and in group B was 2. Amount of dye used is 0.26ml in group A and 0.18ml in group B.
Monochrome filter with 3D visualization provides us with a safer and efficient alternative for ILM Peeling.
