Abstract
STUDY DESIGN: Study type- Hospital based retrospective study
PURPOSE: Pterygium is one of the most common presentations in the ophthalmic practice with certain complications ,cystic degeneration is one of them.
METHODS: A case presented to our OPD , a giant cystic degeneration(11x10mm) of the nasal pterygium in the right eye which is beyond the limitations of the pterygium occupying almost the whole palpebral aperture on the nasal side.
RESULTS: The patient of giant cystic degeneration of pterygium was investigated and managed accordingly without any post operative complications.
Conclusion: Though giant cystic degeneration of pterygium is quite uncommon it should be investigated and managed accordingly.
