Abstract
Purpose : In the absence of a pulmonary TB, establishment of a diagnosis of OTB becomes difficult. We aimed to analyse the efficacy of the newly developed COTS calculator for initiation of ATT.
Methods: A retrospective chart analysis of all the patients with OTB treated with ATT
Results: There was concordance between the results of the investigations and the decision to start ATT in 108 patients (69.68%), while in 47 patients (30.32%) there was discordance. In the discordance group, 6 patients had anterior uveitis (AU), 13 had intermediate uveitis (IU), 12 had retinal vasculitis (RV), 5 had serpiginous – like choroiditis (SLC), 8 had multifocal choroiditis (MFC), and 3 had panuveitis. Within the discordance group,14 were identified as HRCT positive, two were identified as CXR positive, and one patient had both positive results.
Conclusion: The online COTS calculator has been found to be a valuable tool for clinical settings. Minor incorporations could improve the yield further.
