FP2533 : Results of “No-buckle” vitrectomy for RRDs with varying complexity in real-world

Abstract

To evaluate anatomical and visual results of no-buckle vitrectomy (NBPPV) for eyes with RRD with varying complexity. Methods;Retrospective study of consecutive eyes with RRD and varying complexity managed by NBPPV. Eyes with tractional RD or trauma, vascular occlusion or vasculitis or followup <6 months or age <18 years were excluded. Primary outcome was Single procedure success rate (SPSR), final reattachment rate (FRR) & BCVA. Secondary outcome was mean number of surgeries and complications.Results-SPSR for all (80) eyes was 86.2%; 88.7% in silicone and 77.7% in gas filled eyes. FRR was 98.7%. Mean number of surgery was 2. SPSR was 89.3% in uncomplicated RRDs (ucRRDs) and 81.8% in cRRDs. BCVA improved significantly from 1.7to0.5 in ucRRDs, from 2.2 to 0.9 in cRRDs, (pvalue <0.001);from 2.0to0.6 in eyes with SO and from 1.6to0.3 in eyes with gas (p value<0.005).Complications were seen in 11.2% eyes.Conclusion-Study found good outcome following NBPPV for RRDs with varying complexity.
