Abstract
Study Design: Prospective observational study.
Purpose:To study the ocular clinical profile of secondary glaucoma in patients in a tertiary health care centre.
METHODS: Patients diagnosed as secondary glaucoma over 1 year. Total 32 patient. Profile included age,UCVA&BCVA, Ant-segment examination,IOP,gonioscopy,CCT,Optic disc evaluation,Perimetry, ASOCT&Glaucoma OCT.
RESULTS:19 males,13 females with 25 cases U/L &7 cases OU involvement. IOP of 22 patients 21-30 mmhg &8 patients IOP 31-40 mmHg &2 cases IOP 51-60mmHg.
The most common cause was PXF, second lens induced glaucoma & trauma,Third pigment dispersion &ICE syndrome. 20 patients had ocular comorbidity contributing for secondary glaucoma. Glaucomtous optic neuropathy in 7 cases.
CONCLUSION : Secondary glaucoma cases is increasing over time for 6% of the new found glaucoma cases. Globally,2.2 billion individuals are visually impaired with 6.9 million visually impaired people suffering from glaucoma.
