Abstract

Endophthalmitis is an inflammation of inner structures of the eyeball(uveal tissue & retina) with exudates in vitreous cavity,anterior & posterior chamber.Endogenous endophthalmitis is through bloodstream from some infectious focus in the body.Here we present a case of 40 year old male with CKD on Haemodialysis with indwelling IJV catheter for past 2 months with complaints of defective vision BE)associated with redness and pain ×3 days.He is a known case of Type II DM,SHTN × 10 years on irregular treatment .On examination patient had signs of anterior uveitis in BE.Fundus examination & B Scan suggestive of RE) Endogenous endophthalmitis & LE) Retinochoroiditis.Patient was started on empirical systemic antibiotics.On further workup blood culture turned to be positive for MRSA (Methicillin Resistent Staphylococcus Aureus).With appropriate systemic & topical antibiotics and with good diabetic control, patient improved.
