Abstract

To stress the need for meticulous history taking and being vigilant during examination in seemingly quiet eye.An 8 year old boy presented in OPD with blurring of vision and on/off whiteness in both eyes. On examination there was hypopyon in one eye which was not associated with any signs of inflammation. There was no h/o trauma, fb entry, redness, pain and watering. On further questioning, history of chemotherapy for ALL was elicited. The patient was in remission and not under treatment according to records when presented to us. He was not under chemotherapy at this time as his last 2 CBC done by his oncologist came to be normal. We repeated his CBC which was within normal limits.
We did an AC tap of hypopyon and fluid was sent smear microscopic examination which reaved atypical lymphoid cells.B scan was done on high and low gain showed no vit echoes, but minimal choroidal thickening was noted.The patient was refereed back to his treating oncologist along with reports.
