Abstract
The number of cases of progressive myopia is expected to double or even become three times as prevalent in Europe, America, Asia by the end of 2050.
It is important to know why this raging increase in the number of progressive refractive error by understanding the propbable etiopathological factors responsible. In this paper I will be discussing all the perpetrators including genetics, increase pressure of academics, screen use, lack of outdoor activity, environmental changes, ambience, nutritional deficiencies, sleep to name a few. This will further enable us to have a tailor-made approach to investigating and treating such children with progressive myopia.
